[lbo-talk] MSM and blogosphere

I coined the terms Blogovia and Blogistan for the left and right hemispheres, respectively, of the blogosphere. There is also the very prominent anti-war/libertarian zone, which doesn't fit into either camp.

It is, but the blogosphere is to the current right what the underground press->alt.weekly was to the late countercultural left. (This is the rough form of a more nuanced argument--it's quite imprecise as is. Specifically, the underground press was countercultural in nature--the alt.weeklies are much less so. The blogosphere (I've used that word three times--that's enough!--is still up for grabs ideologically, much like the alt.weeklies.)

A lot of liberal/left bloggers use it, but they're wrong to do so.
