...i lived there more than thirty years ago, long before crack...but everything was otherwise the same...

there were liquor stores on every other corner ( the biggest owned and operated by whites), banks were being robbed almost every day, you went from relative opulence to near poverty merely by walking three blocks, i was the only white on my block, and i was totally safe and comfortable on the street...

our nation's capital clearly reflects our nation's values and essence...
