On leftist_trainspotters at yahoogroups there has been periodically, a thread on the "anti-nationalists, " or, "anti-deutschen, " http://www.steinbergrecherche.com/dieantideutschen.htm (Patrick Hagen: Die Antideutschen und die Debatte der Linken über Israel. Magisterarbeit, Köln, SS 2004. Im Netz als pdf- und als .html-Datei, je ca. 500 KB) Except for my "interventions" to use Trotspeak and that of a UK based post-Trotskyist, there has been much heavy breathing polemic by M-L's against that trend on the German Left.

Finding material in English on them isn't easy...except in the Workers Vanguard of the Sparts!

In the 80's Euromissile debate, Telos translated many documents by German writers which took critical and supportive attitudes and stances towards German "left nationalism." These debates, related at greater length in books and articles by Moishe Postone, Jeffrey Herf, Dan Diner, Anson Rabinbach and Andrei Markovits, then and since, seem to me to have been an early airing of the issues being presented in this piece which was quite informative.

Can Angelus provide some other sources, in English, from the p.o.v. against the one in this piece?

In the meantime, Andrei Markovits, " 'Twin brothers' ": European Anti-Semitism and Anti-Americanism, " http://66.102.7.104/search?q=cache:4pNWHbMO3wsJ:www.andymarkovits.com/NewsReleases/AntiSemitismVI.pdf+dan+diner+anti-americanism+anti-semitism+german+left www.andymarkovits.com/NewsReleases/AntiSemitismVI.pdf http://www.dissentmagazine.org/menutest/articles/wi05/markovits.htm

His latest book is called Amerika-Dich Hasst Sich's Besser: Antiamerikanismus und Antisemitismus in Europa, published in 2004 by Konkret-Literatur-Verlag in Hamburg. An expanded and amended English-language version is forthcoming from Princeton University Press.

"Anti-Americanism and Ambivalence: Remarks on an Ideology in Historical Transformation, " http://www.gmfus.org/doc/TELOS%20Anti_Americanism_2005.pdf In the Shadow of Catastrophe: German Intellectuals Between Apocalypse and Enlightenment (Weimar and Now: German Cultural Criticism) by Anson Rabinbach.
