I don't know if you consider Germany to be outside of Washington, but two left-wing daily papers, Junge Welt, www.jungewelt.de, and Neues Deutschland, www.nd-online.de, put coverage of the protests in Washington on the front page of both papers.
These are not marginalized sectarian publications, incidentally. These are mass-distribution national daily newspapers you can pick up at every newspaper kiosk in every train and subway station.
The Junge Welt story in particular mentions that 52 percent of Americans view Bush's war as a mistake.
Do you have any idea how crucially important it is to get a message like that out to a German public that believes all Americans to be uncultured, uncritical slobs who stand behind Bush 100%?
