Right. Kos gets huge traffic, like a tv network or mass circulation newspaper. As Nathan says, he's opened up a new source of funding. These are major achievements, not least because the technology allows for more active, real-time participation than television or print. But the numbers of those who post is much smaller. More interesting than what the Kos site is is what it might become.

I'm confused. Several hundred posters to a blog are a greater social force than over a hundred thousand people gathered in the nation's capital in a demonstration that received sympathetic coverage in all the major media?
