Devine:> this proves my point, I guess: first, it depends on the specifics. And Devine:> Timoshenko represents a third alternative.

Where "alternative" equals local, corrupt, mega-capital? I was under the impression Timoshenko, quaint as she might appear, is linked to large, domestic and shady industry.

Doss:> Actually the Doss:> more I dig into Cossack history the more I dislike the Doss:> Bolsheviks. They were kind of like the neocons, Doss:> forcing reality to fit their ideology.

Considering Francis Fukuyama's declaration that the neo-cons are actually Leninists, I guess that makes you in agreement.

I guess the Hegelian opposite would be the ultra-pragmatist, forcing ideology to fit reality. Stuff like "The poor are poor because they deserve to be" fits in there.
