There never was one, monocultural "Peae Movement." There are multiple peace and anti-war movements. Once you understand this fact, the situation makes more sense and it gives you an idea of where you can plug in.

The myth of the One Big Peace Movement is a legacy of thinking about the anti-Vietnam War movements of the 1960s. Vanguardist and opportunist groups like UFPJ and ANSWER have exploited the myth about the one movement in order to assert their leadership over this mythical creature.

At this point, it looks like the anti-war and peace movements are moving

towards more horizontality, which is a good sign.
