I generally don't use the term Islamo-fascism. However, most of the time I hear people objecting to use of the term, it is just taken for granted that it is absurd.
Political Islam often has a petit-bourgeois or declasse social base, a populist vision of a unified polity transcending class divisions, and anti-semitism.
What is the right checklist to use when determing the fascist nature of a movement? Again, I am not saying "fascism" is the right word for Political Islam, just wondering why it is a self-evident thing to think the word "islamo-fascism" is absurd, whereas calling Israel fascist is ok.
What checklist are we all using, so that I know where we stand?
