Actually, most on the list operate from a much more naive premise than this; they assume that Bush & Co. are a serious problem and therby ignore how serious a "problem" the united states is.
How many people has terrorism killed over the last decade?
How many people has air pollution killed over the last decade?
How many people has the IMF killed over the last two decades?
Terrorism is a very dramatic and frightening phenomenon which kills a few thousand people a year (if that). But focusing on such dramatic phenomena is apt to confuse more than it clarifies.
