TOKYO (Reuters) - Honda Motor Co. (7267.T: Quote, NEWS, Research), Japan's third-biggest car maker, said on Tuesday it is investing about 3.8 billion yen ($32.7 million) to build a body spare parts manufacturing plant in Thailand, aiming to keep pace with strong demand for those parts in the growing Asian automobile markets.
Asia Parts Manufacturing Co. Ltd., a new Honda subsidiary located in Ayutthaya province, will have an annual output capacity of 550,000 parts and start production in June 2007, the company said.
Honda spokeswoman Yuriko Yabe said the new factory consolidates into one location the production of body spare parts for the Asia-Oceania region.
