I'd been wondering what new directions of inanity Hitch would go in now that his whole Iraq project has turned out they was it has. But idiocy on this level is certainly unexpected. Its almost besides the point to engage with anything he writes here, but, wonder how it escaped his attention that humor as a whole (at least in the US) has undergone a sea-change to be dominated by a style of humor that used to be regarded as 'female'--- that is, observational humor. 'Male' humor, ie jokes with a setup and punchline, often bawdy--- is on a precipitous decline. The real story with humor is how women have been funnier than men, if overlooked in this, partly by guys who judge humor by how much it helps them score chicks (as hitch exemplifies here).
