It's not as if the UAW hasn't tried to organize Japanese final assembly plants in the South. The workers voted no every time. Without a doubt, one can point fingers at the UAW leadership for a lack of commitment, bad campaign strategy, etc. Yet this certainly isn't the whole story, or even a major part of the story, your fervent, monocausal belief in the perfidy of union leaders notwithstanding.
