Yeah, well, I hoped for some such to emerge in post-Soviet Russia. I mean, I really hoped for worker-controlled socialist democracy. Look what we got. Sorry, Doug, I don't share your enthusiasm for a KGB thug who blows up inhabited apartment buildings to stir up terrorist fears, whose forces massacre school-children, who conducts a brutal war to keep hold of a Republic to whose inhabitants his regime won't even grant basic civil rights, who arrests and now poisons his political opposition. I don't even give him credit for improving the Russian economy. After the wreck Yeltsin made of it, it had nowhere to go but up.
In Cuba, are there alternatives? Do pray tell what they are. Real alternatives, ones that involve democracy that the US will not use, as they used Sandinista democracy, to install the gusanos and roll back the Revo. No kool-aid please, I've had enough of that.
