The movie had two false moments for me: 1. when Jake yells at his father in law to prove he's not a wimp and 2. When Enis punches the asshole to prove he respects women. Completely unnecessary.

Another false moment: Ennis' wife confronts him with the fact that, during five years of ostensible fishing trips with Jack, Ennis never brought home any fish, and, apparently, never even opened his tackle box. Man, those two cowboys were BUSY up there in the mountains.
