People's Republic of China got its SC seat in 1971, and Beijing's first veto came on 25 August 1972. Taiwan, when it was on the SC, used its veto once, to block the admission of Mongolia to the UN
I just found a neat table that is easier to access than the UN link that I mentioned in my previous message: <http://www.globalpolicy.org/security/data/vetotab.htm>.
Beijing has used its veto powers the least often among all SC members, even when you count only the votes since 1971.
