You can look at it as complication or opportunity (and ask the same question
about what a kid does to the culinary life, the literary life, the political
life.) We found a queen bed to be plenty of room for sleepy unathletic
no-threat-to-slumbering-bambino stuff. For your more involved and energetic
moments, you know, anything involving heavy equipment or loud voices, you
rediscover the joys of the sofa, the carpet in an office space, the shower,
the babysitter-plus-hotel routine. The need for additional planning provides
its own occasions...
