I am guessing she is a Wiccan or something of that ilk. In that case, this is nothing but religious discrimination, and I hope that she sues the pants off of them.
As for the "vampire" husband, there is a subset of people who are usually "Goths" who get off on bloodletting during sex. I hrrrmph encountered a woman like this about 8 years ago but politely informed her that I did not mix phlebotomy with pleasure. Other than this eccentricity, she was only slightly "weird" within the context of the San Francisco Bay Area.
