I do have a problem with Carrol Cox's snotty assertion that the very idea that there is such a thing as anti-americanism is somehow absurd.
I can understand that "anti-americanism" is a stick used by American reactionaries against domestic opposition, the same way that the Israeli ultra-right uses anti-semitism against domestic opponents. In neither case does it mean that anti-americanism and anti-semitism are phantoms.
But Carrol Cox is not politically naive. Otherwise he wouldn't back away from a debate on the topic. He's just a punkass bitch afraid of being called on his nonsense.
