Foreign products, including Nokia, Dutch Lady, Cool Air Wrigley's, Panadol, Coca Cola, Alpenliebe, Doublemint, Prudential and Sony, have strongest brand name recognition and loyalty in Vietnam, according to a local market research recently.

Brands were measured based on several criteria, including consumers' emotional affinity with products, the advantage, performance, and the items' relevance, according to the research conducted by U.K. marketing research firm Millward Brown and local company Customers Insights.

Besides the foreign brands, local confectionary products branded Kinh Do have won most loyalty of Vietnamese consumers. Other strong local brands include Hanoi Beer, Vinamilk (dairy products), and 333 Beer.

The research analyzed the replies of 4,000 consumers in Vietnam 's Hanoi capital and southern Ho Chi Minh City about 60 brands and 10 products categories, including ready-to-drink milk, cameras, snacks, chewing gums, carbonated soft drinks, analgesics, life insurance, candy and mobile phones.
