from the experience of partition in India , i can say estalishment of seperate Jewish land has not solved their problem. in India, even after division, India has the second largest Muslim population in the world, second only to Indonesia. The third country of Muslims might be Pakisthan or Bangla desh. Even after creation of Isrel, arthe cost of Palestine, a huge number of Jews stay in many parts of the world. The real hollocust ever was their being ousted from their father land in biblical times.

Though the Jews were treated like pariahs the untouchables of India in every european city, considered somehow as antichrist, they were economically better off and shrewed unlike the untouchables . There might have been a hidden animus at their acument in business and also at their relentless usury. The point is it is useless to look upon partition or movement of a whole people from various regions to one geographic enclve and cll them a nation. A nation is much more than that.. a people living for a long time together.. this element is missing. Pakisthan instead of settling down to the task of bulding a nation harps on Indian muslims and a sense of wrong as though entire India belonged to them and ruminating on a Moghul period again. Isrelis may well feel they have a right over entire palestine someboy is deceiving them of their nation! As Beveridge though they should not have been left where ever they were and christians should have changed their attitude.. In India slowly but surely anti-pariah caste perceptions are changing for the better uder democratic movements. Even the Indian Muslim would find his life better side by side with his coreligionists under democracy provided out side influences of fundamentalist Islamists are prevented.
