I have to say I was a little envious of seeing a memorial to the victims of National Socialism in Munich. I wish we had memorials to the victims of slavery and the US Army.

Actually that's a good point. It is rather odd that there are no anti-slavery monuments other than ones to King and so forth.
Russia has monuments to Stalin and his victims at the same time! I don't remember the name of the town that set up a Stalin monument recently -- IIRC the federal government forced them to take it down.
