As for the cortisone shots, you might amuse yourself by renting Nicholas Ray's old movie Bigger than Life with James Mason, about the unexpected "benefits" of cortisone. I think you would like it. Btw there is an unusually intersting article on Martx & Engels on religion in the current issue of Science & Society. jks
