[Seen this often in TX, where Dem candidates battling GOP incumbents utilize some soundbyte wherein Bush seems to heap praise on the Dem, implying Bush thinks the Dem is a stand up dude. -B.]

POLITICAL NOTEBOOK: Bush in Democrats' ads

By SUSAN HAIGH, Associated Press Writer Thu Jun 29, 2:21 PM ET

President Bush is the star of two Democratic campaign ads, a link that could be a boon to one senator and a bane to another.

In Nebraska, the state Democratic Party is airing spots with footage of Bush's 2005 speech in Omaha in which he calls first-term Democratic Sen. Ben Nelson (news, bio, voting record) "a man with whom I can work, a person who's willing to put partisanship aside to focus on what's right for America."
