I'm always embarrassed and distressed to discover evidence of my ignorance, and this is no exception, but I spend a lot of time consuming economic & political news and I missed it. There's one mention of it in The New York Times - the election roundup on Nov 3, 2005. There are no mentions in the Wall Street Journal. There's one mention of it in The Nation - buried in a John Nichols column. Nathan's claim that we should have been talking about it rather than the teacher's case is pretty ludicrous.
