The story told in the email from Steve Brown, which was posted here the other day, describing an alleged fit allegedly thrown by WBAI program director Bernard White has been denied by White, as well as arts director Janet Coleman, whom Brown cited as a witness. Coleman, in fact, wasn't in the building, and she was quite upset to be implicated in the story.
Brown's language, including "South Bronx" and "aped," has been rightly condemned by people around the station as hideous and racially inflammatory. The WBAI local station board has officially dissociated itself from Brown's comments <http://www.wbai.org/lsb/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=3033&Itemid=25>. Brown is doing the cause of improving WBAI real harm by writing such stuff.
