For the past couple years Dublin City Council has been over-interpreting the Litter Pollution Act to deny the right to put up posters on public property - whether for protests, public meetings, whatever. They make exceptions only during election time and then only for posters advocating particular votes. Of course it violates all manner of national and European freedom of expression laws, but the civil liberties watchdogs here are fairly toothless.
