The focus of the protests here is the use of Shannon Airport to transport US soldiers (and, lately, the serious allegations that it has been used to transport prisoners for torture). The Irish public are still strongly opposed to this, both for the obvious reasons, and because of Ireland's traditional neutrality. I genuinely don't think the Dublin protest was poorly attended out of lack of interest but out of lack of publicity.
