I said the military is *usually* not asked to do things they don't want to.
There is no denying that -- after all the military's "shock and awe"
strutting around in Iraq -- this particular escapade has blown up in their
face. In fact, it seems to me they could be on the glide path now for Son
of the Battle of Stalingrad, with US forces in Iraq being surrounded and
annihilated.
In short, I don't think the US military is happy now at all. Whether they
continue to view their "orders" as anything more than mere guidelines does
remain to be seen.
