Scott Ritter, too. We could probably find other examples out there, to varying degrees.
It seems that the sheer contempt shown in the past several years for specialists in any relevant field has shaken quite a few out of their establishment mindset. And this radicalization, vs. what has not happened in the wider public seems to contrast with events of 35 years ago. In an recent interview of Chalmers Johnson by Tom Englehart, he noted how he now felt that the antiwar protesters of the time got a lot wrong on the analytical side, but that they were doing the right thing (which he didn't feel at the time). I suppose the absence of any wider immediate stake for the public (as forced by conscription) has flipped that equation. Or is there less difference than I'm making out?
