Straw is unceremoniously dismissed -- and sent to the same job given Robin Cook when he proved ideologically unsound. (Will Straw now die mysteriously on holiday, as well?) Beckett has proved herself a reliable Blair loyalist (even when she had "doubts"), which Straw clearly did not, in regard to Iran. Like Auden's citizen, she "held the proper opinions for the time of year; / ... when there was war, (s)he went..." --CGE
