Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh has said that work on the Mumbai Metro rail project will begin in June.
The project, costing Rs 2356 crore, will be jointly taken up by Reliance Energy and the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority.
The first phase of the metro rail project will be an elevated corridor covering the Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar route. It is likely to be completed in three years.
