Actually ESPN just did a story on this very subject, noting that whites think he shouldn't get the record way more than people of color. However, I think most people don't care about the home run record. It's not a compelling story in the steroids era. However, Barry doesn't help himself in the media and he never really has, except when everyone loved him during his record-breaking season. He recently "disrespected" Babe Ruth, which is something that gets sports media types riled up. It's nonsense.
