I was responding to the second part of this claim of yours:

It is nonsense that a vegetarian diet doesn't USUALLY provide that.

It's not my experience that most American vegetarians are "vegjunktarians", at least not those who remain vegetarian for more than a couple months at most. And I don't see where that article says that they are, either. I'm sorry about what happened to you but to use it as a springboard to say that vegetarian diets, PER SE, do not "usually" provide essential nutrients is totally inaccurate and I make no apology for pointing that out.
