Though I'm always a bit wary of research on personality & character of this or that group, this sounds possible -- but I would also say that were SUVs to be banished from the highways their current drivers might or might not continue to be "antisocial and paranoid." And I would presume it is (like the falling rate of profit) a _tendency_, differently manifested in different persons and under different conditions. Someone who was paranoid about moving waters would hardly appear as such if she lived her entire life in a Saharan oasis.
