[lbo-talk] kvetch about Frist Afghanistan coverage

So far it seems only AP is covering Frist's remarks about Afghanistan
(Taliban has too many fighters and too much political support to be
defeated militarily; US should try to bring Taliban into the govt.)
Not NYT or the WPost. This isn't newsworthy? Senate Majority Leader,
2008 pres candidate, no liberal, says US can't win militarily and
needs to reach a political accommodation? Dem leaders shutting down
debate by calling him a coward? US soldiers dying in Afghanistan at
the same rate as in Iraq?
