Since Stern has been mentioned on this list recently, I thought I'd pass this along. Haven't had a chance to read it, so I don't have a reaction yet. Also, he appeared on Colbert last night:

In 2006, the average American household is carrying significant debt, has little or no money to save for retirement, and may or may not have health insurance. A staggering number of Americans are facing serious economic challenges — living only one illness or accident away from bankruptcy.

In his new book A Country That Works, SEIU President Andy Stern argues that our political and social systems increasingly don't function and need major reform. He proposes innovative and workable solutions for vital political and economic reform — a plan for a renewed America where work is rewarded; where everyone has quality, affordable health care; where our education system effectively teaches our children; where people can retire with dignity and security; and where everyone contributes to making America great.

During the first week of October, Andy will be on the Colbert Report on Comedy Central and Fresh Air with Terri Gross on NPR. He will also be featured in Fortune magazine.
