Hey, are Romanians known for being violin players? In Ilya Ehrenburg's WWII writing, he keeps calling the Romanian facists "violin players," "they should have stayed home playing the violin," and so forth.
(Apparently, going by Ehrenburg, the German soldiers called their Italian counterparts "Champions in Retreat.")
