Pugliese,

Why in the hell are you posting this stuff? Have you actually read his articles in Dissent and compared them to reality? They are a fine tissue of lies.

For instance he claims in one of his Dissent pieces that the Sandinistas came to power because Carter pulled the rug out from under Somoza and that the U.S. was happy to support the Sandinistas until they showed their true colors as Communists. He gives statistics of "aid" to the Sandinista government under Carter without once pointing out that the aid to the Sandinista government was money given to the Sandinista opposition. This is something I remember from my notes at the time. I would have to actually dig up the article to expose his weave of propaganda. He mostly lies by ommission but what he was doing was supplying "left" justification for a U.S. war of terror on a small country.

But who cares. You certainly don't. Great, the Sandinista's were Marxist Leninists! Let's send a terrorist army to blow up medical clinics and schools in small villages. It's right to do so because those people are commies.
