I think being opposed to "what Israel has done (and is doing)" far outweighs the importance of being "clear about the events that occurred." Let's leave the latter to the historians. After all, e.g., the attack on Pearl Harbor happened 65 years ago, and it's still not clear who knew what, when -- whether it was a genuine surprise attack or Washington knew it would happen and failed to alert local commanders.
