STOCKHOLM (Reuters) - Volvo, the world's number two truck maker, said on Wednesday it had agreed to start a joint-venture company to produce bus bodies in India.
Volvo will own 70 percent of the joint-venture with India's Jaico Automobiles, the company said in a statement.
Volvo said it would build a factory with the capacity to produce 1,000 bus bodies per year.
It gave no financial details for the deal.
The bus bodies will primarily be used for Volvo buses in India but the companies will look at exporting to other Volvo markets in the Middle East and South East Asia.
