battles are a rare example of good math rock surviving the post-slint
mid-nineties. battles also got custody of talent in the don caballero
divorce. new yorker music critic sasha frere-jones lists it as his tenth
favorite album of 2007 thus far.

i hasten to add that they're very fun live. i really liked their EPs on Warp
and I'm sure Mirrored will be pretty awesome too.
