I was a meeting planner for those AAAS meetings. Did five meetings total. We used to joke that there always had to be linguistics sessions for both the Chomskyans and the anti-Chomskyans.
Highlights of AAAS meetings for me:
* Got a front row seat for a Bill Gates lecture where his demo crashed. * When Stephen Jay Gould was the President, he organized a kick ass session on the science of baseball.
