To amplify a little, capitalism has served well for some time and it is now time for it to exit or get overthrown, as its negative features have asserted beyond redemption..To the extent capitalism got reformed somewhat over time , ducking for survival as it were,in response to attacks from socialistic theories, with half way house solutions like welfare economics etc, and to the extent socialism Ne communism got reformed(?) to get over the charge of totalitarianism against it, the new system that replaces the present day out dated capitalism could be named somewhat differently so as to make it comfortable to opponents to the concept of socialism(prejudicial as it is), disturbed as they are by its alleged anti freedom tendencies.

Socialism aims at establishment of complete genuine democracy for all sections of society , removing the class controlled democracies of the present day bourgeoisie democracies. In other words the fight is to be presented as one for establishment of Democracy. It is by continuous expansion of democracy that one can conquer totalitarian tendencies of capital or threat to freedom from any other quarters. Explained that way peaceful transformation should be considered possible. Only such an achievement based on peaceful and nonviolent transformation can achieve undistorted and somewhat permanent transformation and only then freedom can be assumed as a natural phenomenon like breathing rather than as given or snatched or taken.

Freedom is a by product of democracy and it can flourish even if economic standard is somewhat not optimum. provided democracy for all is guaranteed. That way the attack on the allegedly Marxist premises that everything , social or cultural , is prefaced absolutely on economics could be overcome. This is somewhat akin to Gandhian position. That way the need for an ever expanding capitalistic mode of production model could be obviated. The key is classless Democracy.
