If you're dispensing the same nonsense to your students that you do to this list, I would have to say, yes, your influence is probably more malign now that you're back in the classroom than it was when you were a bad-guy corpo lawyer. I will say this for my experience as a PR flack, it cemented my awareness that the capitalist system is deeply, intrinsically evil and needs to be torn out root and branch. I state that message unequivocally and repeatedly on this list. Meanwhile, you seem to bounce merrily back and forth between academe and corporate lawyerdom, simply deepening your complacent conceit that the system just needs a little tweaking and all will be dandy.
I can't decide whether you're more preposterous in your role as philosopher king or legal eagle. In either case, your writing style is terminally turgid and your thoughts mere cloud formations. I don't for a minute believe that you are a socialist of any kind but simply a pompous parvenu who delights in gloating about his wardrobe of expensive Italian leatherwear.
But please don't let me drive you from this list. I treasure your presence here as an inexhaustible source of laughs.
