This may be true of a very small number of home schoolers, but if you look (as I once did) at the curricula available for home schooling, you'll find that the vast majority of it is oriented toward those who want to subject their children to the most thoroughgoing religious indoctrination. The home-schooling movement is dominate by fundamentalist protestants. The religious indoctrination on offer at most Catholic schools, in contrast, is thin gruel indeed.
