DRM and all forms of intellectural rights management face a very bleak future. It's just too easy to share files. Countries around the world are banning DRM technology. The public is very hostile towards the music industry. Some survey recently found that people rationalize downloading movies because Hollywood stars get paid so much.

Then there was a friend who worked for the RIAA several years ago, who told me at the time that the staff there were of the opinion that the industry had lost the file-sharing wars and they were just going through the motions.
