I disagree sharply with Stan on some issues, but he's not off his
rocker, his ideas, right or wrong, still deserve serious consideration
by anyone who wants to claim to be a leftist -- and I detect a bit of
jealousy in this thread. He's a windbag only for those under the
delusion that u.s. crimes are mere aberrations or because the wrong man
is in the White House. Those crimes express the inner reality of the
nation as a nation (though I hope not of most of its people). There is
no greater need in the world today than an international united front
against the u.s. Stan's tactical suggestions are of course debatable, as
are anyone's, but they point in the right strategic direction.

In the future the world (if there still is one) will debate the "Good
Americans" of this period as back in the '40s we debated the question of
the "Good Germans."
