So far as I know, even the most decided 'opposition' to the war within ruling class circles does not take the only meaningful form of a demand that the u.s. admit defeat and simply pull out unilterally, leaving its Iraqi friends in the lurch. Any thing short of that, translated into practice, is continuation of the war. There is not an iota of _real_ division on the war.
