I wouldn't say that's the character of all of OD, but it is definitely Postel's position in the pamphlet. What the real difference is between leftists and himself (except for the question of the struggle against US imperialism) is never really highlighted.
It's really a shame he couldn't have been more interested in bringing the whole situation to light and been more generous with what could only be called possible fellow travelers. In making his argument in this way, he becomes doubly useful to the neo-cons who adopt it for their own use: ideological smokescreen for invasion and vigilant resistance against all things "leftist."
