Wikipedia describes Rosoboronexport like this:

The Rosoboronexport State Corporation is the sole state intermediary agency for Russia's exports/imports of defense–related and dual use products, technologies and services. The corporation was set up by the Decree of the President of Russian Federation and is charged with implementation of the policy of the State in the area of military-technical cooperation between Russia and foreign countries.

Rosoboronexport has supplied the Iranian military with some of its most advanced weapons systems such as the Tor M1 -

(YouTube video showing the Tor M1 in action, note the elegant missile positioning system - quite remarkable really - the Russians can design and build the hell out of rockets):

The Moskit ramjet anti-ship missile:

And perhaps (though this is less certain), the SA-12 S-300V Gladiator anti-aircraft missile system:

Like many others I'm concerned that Washington's noise about 'taking steps' against Iran (supposedly in response to phantom arms shipments to and tank killing training for Sunni guerrillas) and the alarming reports from journalists such as Seymour Hersh about serious plans for an impending air assault are describing something that's all too real.

But in addition to that concern, there's a linked source of unease: that in the course of this attack, Iran, deploying its advanced Russian weapons, will bring the pain to US naval and air forces in a way they haven't experienced since the Second World War.

Just as some progressives are worried that an American and/or Israeli attack will inspire even Iranian dissidents to rally round Tehran, I fear that the explosive loss of American fighter aircraft and, perhaps even more spectacularly, naval vessels will bring recently skeptical Americans closer to the Bush administration's POV, demanding vengeance and tacitly co-signing onto a widened conflict.

My needs are simple: solid gold house, rocket car and crazy stripper wife.

Is this too much to ask?
